When I met Joe he was a drinking man He liked to get to know you with a glass in his hand with a glass in his hand He was riding the rails back in '29 Compared to most folks he was doing fine he was doing fine When Joe got going he'd talk real fast Advertising & revising his illustrious past He spit & he laughed he was a kick in the ass He told a lot of tales and he played a little Hobo Jazz He borrowed a banjo off a boxcar bum It took him a year to learn to play it some He learned to play by gum Next thing you know he's at Carnegie Hall The Governor's Mansion, The President's Ball He played them all When Joe got going he'd talk real fast Advertising & revising his illustrious past He spit & he laughed he was a kick in the ass He told a lot of tales and he played a little Hobo Jazz (written by Dave Brown)

about

This is the demo we started out with. This is fresh, raw Hobo Jazz, just barely starting off but already finding our own sound. We were still a 4 piece at this time with Marquis on acoustic guitar & our original upright bass player, Fernando Mota. We were young, we were rough.

This is not for casual listening, rather, it's for any fan that wants to follow the evolution of the band. This is where we covered Whitney Houston & Royal Crown Revue. We play our eponymous song, penned by Marquis' boss, the great Dave Brown. We play a handful of originals & covers, some of which we never recorded again.

The cover art is the original art file that we printed to put on the CDRs we gave out, or threw at unsuspecting listeners. Some people may even still have one!

Please, listen with the understanding that we eventually got better.

The album cover is the exact art we used to print the label that we put on the cd-r.
